Tips & Techniques using Digital Stamps with Karla!

Hi SEM friends! Karla here today, blogging my last post here on this fantastic blog, and sharing some tips and techniques.  Even though my time here is done, I've enjoyed being part of this wonderful design team. These girls are awesome! If you're thinking of joining a design team, be sure to check out this post - you might just be the person the SEM team is looking for.

For my tip/technique today I'm talking about Digital Stamps. If you google or check Pinterest for digi stamps you are sure to come across many, many very cute options available - many which are free! I found this adorable Macaron Stamp on Jane's Doodles blog. It is a JPEG that you can simply right click and save to your computer. I have a PC - not a mac, so that's what I do on mine ;) This saves the image as a photo and I can print it off whatever size I wish!

Here are a few tips I have found helpful when using your digi stamps:
- Print in Fast Draft on your printer. This is the setting that uses less ink and reduces any bleeding of your image.
- Heat set your image after printing.
- Print on white cardstock. I just feed the sheet of cardstock through my printer and don't even change the paper settings.
- Using an alcohol based marker, such as Copics or Prismacolors, prevents bleeding of the ink. You could even use coloured pencils! I have used water based markers before, but you have to be careful to not touch the black lines too much, so I usually stick to my Prismacolors.

After I coloured my image in I used some pretty Stickles to add some shiny sparkles to the icing and I stamped a sentiment using a stamp set from CTMH.

Inside, I used one of my fav sentiment stamp sets - Believe Script from Pink & Main.

I fussy cut around my image and popped it up with foam dots over my patterned paper background and added some washi and sequins from 28 Lilac Lane.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy a fantastic week, and let me know if you decide to try out a digi stamp image!

My Everyday Miracle. Gas Ahead! by Linda

When my children were small, my husband and I were involved in children’s ministry. We did special programs with gospel magic, ventriloquist dummy, puppet show and chalk drawings. We were scheduled to do a program in Panama City, Florida...There were very few gas stations along Interstate 10 so when we got down to a fourth of a tank, my husband asked the kids to start praying. We looked for miles, but no gas station. Finally, we turned off of the interstate onto a two lane highway...we saw a gas station ahead but when we got there, it had closed down. Now things were really getting serious. We got to the top of a very long hill and the motor stopped...we coasted down the hill and at the bottom, was a larger road and three gas stations. As we coasted into the nearest one, my six year old son said, “Well, Daddy, God said He would provide what we need and we did not need the gas until we got to the bottom of the hill.” “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

In the Word Wednesday

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! (at least here in the U.S.)

And I felt it would be a great time to share some "uplifting" spring-inspired verses (and photos) with you!

Hope they uplift & inspire you today! ~Cara

Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world's a choir - and singing! Spring warblers are filling the forest with sweet arpeggios. Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed, and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms. Oh, get up, dear friend, my fair and beautiful lover - come to me!
Song of Solomon 2:12-13

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.
James 5:7

Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.
Joel 2:23

Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.
Zechariah 10:1

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

Happy April!

Today I'm here to challenge you with a layout sketch, a card sketch and a scripture for your inspiration along with some amazing samples by the Design Team!

I love how they all picked up the butterfly theme from the sketch!

Scripture Focus
"In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:6

Don't you love the way Karla blended all the colors together so softly?

I hope you have been inspired by the team and are heading off to create something beautiful of your own with the sketches and scripture.
