It has been more than 20 years since I lived in a home where love came at a cost, and where I was frequently reminded that I would never amount to anything.  I moved out of my parents' home at the age of 17, never to return.  As much as I felt like I was alone in this world, I knew for a fact that the Lord had His eye on me.  Looking back, I believe that all throughout my childhood he strategically placed grown ups in my life, to love, and care for me.  People who prayed for me, and never hesitated to tell me the good they saw in me.  To me, they were Jesus with skin on.  They were the example I followed of what it meant to love Him, and live a life that was pleasing to Him.  The relationships I had with friends' parents, camp counselors, and staff, teachers, and peers helped me to both see and feel the love of my Father.  Through them, I came to see that I wasn't alone in this world.  I have no doubt that it is because of the love of these people, and their involvement in my life, whether face to face, or simply through their prayers, that I am who I am today.  Sometimes I look around me, and I am overcome with thanksgiving for all that I have, and all that I have become when my life could have turned out so differently.  I should have been the girl looking for love in all the wrong places, the one who was broken and scared, and took out her rage on others.  I should have been anything but the woman I am today, blessed beyond measure.  I have a husband who loves me, and does his very best to ensure that I know it.  I have three beautiful girls who, in my opinion are walking, talking miracles.  I have women in my life who know me, really know me.  They love, and encourage me.  They challenge me when they know I need it, and they aren't afraid to let me know when I'm being too hard on myself, or others.  I have Spiritual gifts, that I am able to use to encourage, and influence the world around me to the benefit of the Kingdom of Heaven.  I know that I am not perfect.  I can drive my husband crazy with my nagging, and all my list making.  I can exasperate my kids in the same way.  And my tongue has been known to get me into trouble on more than one occasion, with more than one friend.

With the patience and forgiveness of friends, and family, and the promise of my Lord that his mercies are new every morning (Lamentation 3:22-23).  I will continue to believe the promise, the promise the Lord gives in Jeremiah 33:3 that says when we call on Him, He is sure to answer us.  I am living my dream.  This life of mine, with all it's the ups and the downs, all it's joys and disappointments, was once only a dream, but now is a reality.  I am oh, so grateful I get to live it.  It all began with prayer.  My prayers, and the prayers of the many who came and went in my life.  If you happen to recognize yourself in some aspect of my story, be encouraged.  Know that the Lord is with you.  He promises to never leave you.  He hears your prayers, and knows how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together.  He has a plan.  If perhaps you are the one praying for the 'wondering soul', know that your prayers do not fall on deaf ears.  Change will come, the 'wanderer may not yet know it, but it is the power of your prayers that is just the very thing of which they are in desperate need.  You are becoming part of their story, quite possibly, their dream come true.

"To the one who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power, that is at work within us, to Him be the glory..." Ephesians 3:20-21.

March Sketch Challenge

Hello again!  This is Jeannine and today I'm bringing this month's sketch challenge!  Before I do that, let me tell you about something you may not have heard yet.  Scrapping Everyday Miracles now has a Chit Chat Facebook page where we can all talk about scrapbooking as well as anything else you want to discuss!   That's right.  We now have a Facebook page where you can rub elbows with other scrappers and have fun getting to know everyone better!!  You seriously need to go check it out, I promise you won't be disappointed.  Just visit the page using the link I've provided and click "Ask to join this group" and as soon as Nicole approves it, you're in!!  We had to have admin approval so we don't get spammers but believe me it's worth the extra effort because we have so much fun there!!  Oh c'mon, you know you want to be part of the fun!!  Can't wait to chat with you there!!  :)

From the Heart - Heartfelt Post

What is on your heart today?  I've found that the Lord loves to speak to us and He often does this by putting things into our hearts; almost like that Mommy gut feeling you get with your kids.  I have learned over the past few years to begin to listen and do whatever the Lord puts on my heart no matter how silly it may seem and the results have been amazing.  So I began to ask the Lord what to share with you today and this is what He put into my heart. 


You see I am a SAHM and a homeschooler of 5 children so my days you might say go less than perfect at times.  LOL!  I was just crying out to the Lord about everything that I needed to do, everything that was on my schedule and just the chaos that tends to reign at our house.  As I sat in my quiet area in tears yet again because my perfect day was shot, the Lord began to speak that He had created each day specifically for me.  As my Father, he had perfectly assembled my day as one would a present and wrapped it up in beautiful paper and sat in on the table for my enjoyment.  But so many times I was saying no I can't open your present because I don't have time, I have a schedule that I need to keep, It is too pretty to open, I forgot, I don't deserve it...

How would you feel if you handpicked a present for your child that was so right for them and would bring such enjoyment and then they wouldn't open it?  You would be disappointed!  See God gives us a choice each day, do we want to open the present He has prepared for us with all the abundant life He has promised us or do we want to let it sit, and thus give the thief (Satan) a chance to steal our gift?

The Lord never promised that everything in life would go just as we want; there will be hurts, disappointments, and other things.  But the Lord does promise to give us abundant life - He promises that He knew us even in our Mother's womb and wrote the days of our lives.  So today, I urge you, unwrap the gift the Lord has prepared for you, live your day to the fullest rejoicing in all the special moments of that day even if they don't seem to be your perfect.  And learn to listen to your heart because the Lord wants to speak to you!

CHALLENGE #14

Winner for Challenge #13 will be announced on March 10th!

Hello Everyone . . . It's my turn to bring you our March Challenge . .  and I'm so excited about it!!  

While on vacation in South Africa, I went to a church service with a friend of mine.  They are a small community, and I was asked to describe who I am in one word!  And this is where this month's challenge cames from.

THIS IS ME . . . in one word!!

We want you to do a layout all about who you are, but the title of your layout must be the word that you think describe you the most right now!  Just being who you are, are a miracle in itself!  Often we look at the things around us, and we see God working in our lives, but sometimes we just need to sit and think  "Who am I, what are my talents, my personality, my likes and dislikes."  This month it's all about YOU! 

SCRAP TWIST:  We want to see the person behind the layout, so please use a photo of yourself and journaling to tell us who you are!  It would be fun if you scraplift yourself as well.

I had to really think when I was asked the question at church!  But the word "strong" popped into my head every time I though about a different word, and I knew this is the word God is telling me how He sees me!  And it just fit me so well!  I am a strong woman, BUT I know where my strength comes from.  


Jeannine's layout will put a smile on your face for sure!!  Here is what Jeannine had to say about her layout:  "I wasn't sure what word describes me so I asked my family and without hesitation, all three of them said, "Silly!" I can't deny it. I love being silly. God wired me this way for a reason and I've seen how my silliness has uplifted my friends and family when they needed it. How cool is that? I can act silly and serve God all at the same time!"


Sherri created such a gorgeous layout to describe herself!  Sherri said this about her layout:  " I recently read an article that spoke about the trouble we can have, especially as women, recognizing our worth outside of the role we fill for our spouse, our children, our bosses, etc. The writer went on to remind the us of all the ways God sees us, the way He created us. I chose to use this as the basis of my layout. These promises (typed up and hidden in the pockets behind the photo) serve as a wonderful reminder of not only who I am, but whose I am."



Here is Lisa's creative layout and she explains what it's all about . . . "I was going to choose 'nuts' as my word but a friend said I should use 'creative'. I thought that was better, God has certainly made me with a strong creative streak!"


Here is Wendy's wonderful layout . . . "The word that best describes me is rock-solid. I don't change because I am completely grounded in my Lord. I have grown over the years and will continue to grow until the Lord calls me home, but my foundation is built on the rock!"


Here is Nicole's creative layout . . . "The word that came to mind for me right now is "Be You -tiful".  Being me is beautiful... I dont need to try to be different or be someone else.... God sees me as beautiful just as I am! I have included on the layout many of the things that I love and make me ME!
